“Feel the Gravity, pull me towards you and you towards me, until we are one”. If it weren’t such a poignant lyric with undying truth, it would serve as the theme behind the magnetism of Marcus Eaton and his fans. For the last three years, a relentless touring schedule and amazing music have made Marcus Eaton a household name within the Pacific Northwest. This notoriety has grown to an international level thanks to anpolicy on taping and trading live shows.

Marcus, the son of a musician, is from the small town of Pocatello, Idaho. Here, his acute appreciation of nature and its inhabitants became an important part of the makeup that is Marcus Eaton. He learned to play guitar at 9 years old and at the age of 15 wrote his first song, entitled ‘Carousel’. From there the creative juices started to flow and he has written many albums worth of original material as of 2005.

The band Marcus Eaton and The Lobby formed in 1997. In 2002, Uninhibited Records (MCA/Universal) signed ME&L to their first recording contract, and shortly after, the band released The Day The World Awoke to national acclaim. Songs such as ‘Back From The Beginning’, ‘Top of The World’, ‘Blue and Gray’, and ‘Gravity’ were instantly embraced by the band’s anxiously awaiting audience and have gained solid appreciation on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio where they are in constant rotation.

In 2004, Marcus decided that the journey of pursuing a career in music was better fitted by going solo, and released Live, an album that highlights how a magical night can be delivered to an audience with an acoustic guitar, vocals and well-suited effects. Perfecting his solo acoustic presence, he graced the stage with such musical and songwriting luminaries as Jewel, Edwin McCain, Victor Wooten, and most recently, a 9-city tour with Dave Matthews Band collaborator, Tim Reynolds.

Marcus’ recording life was elevated to new heights when he entered the studio last May to begin producing and recording tracks for a new release. In four months time, dedication, enthusiasm and creativity allowed Marcus to grow into an efficient studio leader, working with drummer Derico Watson (Victor Wooten Band), bassist Garrett Sayers (The Motet) and pianist Kyle Aho. Vic Anesini, a mastering engineer from Sony Music Studios who has worked with Aerosmith, Outkast, Shakira, and Bob Dylan, has signed on to master the tracks this fall.

The coming year holds much promise for Marcus and his fans. A building anticipation for his 2006 album release and the chance to re-ignite connections with his audience keeps Marcus charging forward. The incredible power of his music will be felt through many stunning, energetic, and eclectic live performances in ’06 with a full band and solo acoustic. Marcus Eaton is one of those rare talents that can grace us with an unashamed view of the world from his eyes. Love, life, and humility are topics of interest for all his listeners, and Marcus takes these qualities to another level with his “wearing-his-emotions-on-his-sleeve” style of songwriting. Look out world; Marcus Eaton is on his way to the top and is coming to take everyone with him.
